Proteinase Production by Nylon Oligomers utilizing Bacteria, Achromobacter guttatus

Abstract

|
Extracellular proteinase was produced by Achromobacter guttatus, which was isolated from soil as a strain decomposing nylon oligomers The culture conditions and proteinase production were studied.
The maximum production of proteinase was obtained in a medium containing 0.5 % nylon oligomers, 0.3 % peptone, and 0.1 % yeast extract with salt mixture for 24 hr. Enzyme production was significantly stimulated by the addition of yeast extract. The repression of enzyme production was observed by the addition of glucose to the media
